QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs welding, cutting and fabrication in required time frames and set standards.
• Ability to effectively write detailed service reports.
• Must keep timely and accurate reporting of times on job and completion of service reports.
• Occasionally required to travel to customers' sites to perform welding duties.
• Inspects welded joints and conducts tests to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job specifications.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with brake press may be helpful.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints and drawings.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while independent and self-sufficient.
• Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Must be familiar with gas and electric welders, cutting with flame and plasma equipment, welding with stick and flux-cored and welding metal with TIG and MIG welding equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid California driver's license. Forklift Operator Safety Certificate. Print out of a clean DMV driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

COMPENSATIONS

Pay Range: $ $40.39 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.

Hourly rate of pay as negotiated with Operating Engineers, Local #3. Excellent company-paid benefits including medical, dental, retirement, vacations and holidays.
