Overview:

The Graphic Designer supports the creation of brand-right visual assets for consumer product categories including apparel, accessories, stationery, sporting goods, backpacks, bottles, and more. This role requires strong conceptual and technical design skills, trend awareness, vendor communication, and the ability to work within established brand guidelines. The Designer collaborates closely with Lead Designers and the Global Creative Director to execute creative briefs and support the development of style guides, asset packs, mockups, and presentations for Mattel's global portfolio of brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create style guides, brand assets, and design templates for consumer products.
  • Conduct trend and consumer research to inform design directions and moodboards.
  • Develop creative briefs, moodboards, concepts, and illustrations.
  • Produce product mockups (2D/3D), one-sheets, and inspiration decks.
  • Execute graphic design, typography, and illustration for multiple product categories.
  • Manage and collaborate with external vendors; provide feedback on delivered assets.
  • Support creative requests from internal teams and franchise marketing.
  • Design decks, layout presentations, and maintain templates for creative teams.
  • Participate in brainstorms and cross-functional ideation sessions.
  • Track, analyze, and curate emerging design and consumer trends.
  • Ensure all assets meet brand standards and are applicable across global categories.
  • Deliver high-quality projects on time and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in apparel or consumer products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite.
  • Must have strong knowledge of vector-based design, color theory, layout, composition, and typography.
  • Experience with accessories, school items, bottles, stationery, backpacks is a plus.
  • Agency background and licensing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must submit a portfolio; drawing/sketching skills are a plus.
