Job Summary

Southern Standard Landscaping is seeking a dedicated Hardscape Installation Technician who excels at assisting and following clear, detailed directions. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting hardscape projects—from walkways and patios to retaining walls and steps—ensuring that our teams deliver quality craftsmanship and a beautiful finish on every project.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior technicians and project leads, following their instructions meticulously to complete tasks related to installing walkways, patios, retaining walls, and steps.
  • Assist with hardscape projects by helping install features like walkways, retaining walls, and patios.

Site Preparation & Material Handling:

  • Help prepare job sites by grading, leveling, and setting foundations for hardscape installations.
  • Support the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and equipment needed for projects.
  • Support the setup and layout of hardscape elements, contributing to the creation of beautiful, functional outdoor living spaces.

Installation Support:

  • Aid in the measurement, cutting, and laying of materials such as stone, brick, and concrete.
  • Assist with the mixing, pouring, and spreading of concrete or mortar, ensuring that all work is done according to project specifications.
  • Follow specific instructions to construct features like walkways, patios, retaining walls, and steps with precision.
  • Ensure your work area remains clean and organized during and after project execution.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies, addressing any on-site issues by notifying a supervisor when needed.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout all tasks to ensure a flawless finished product.

Requirements

  • A strong ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Previous experience in construction or landscaping
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in hardscape projects is beneficial.

Physical & Technical Ability:

  • Must be physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn and adhere to established processes is essential.

Education & Licenses:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred for transporting materials and equipment.
