Network Field Sales Engineer

The Network Field Sales Engineer will act as the technical and business liaison between customers and Hyve, driving the adoption of network switch platforms and solutions. This role combines technical expertise in networking with sales skills to understand customer requirements, present Hyve's products, and support pre-sales and post-sales activities. The engineer will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and operations teams to ensure customer success and market growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for customers evaluating Hyve's network switch products.
- Conduct product presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts to highlight our solutions and capabilities.
- Gather customer requirements, provide technical guidance, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Support sales teams with RFPs, RFQs, and proposals by providing technical input and solution design.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management to ensure solutions meet customer specifications and integration needs.
- Provide training and enablement to customers, partners, and internal sales teams on our products.
- Assist with customer onboarding, troubleshooting, and post-sales technical support as needed.
- Track competitor products and market trends, providing feedback to internal teams.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 3–7 years of experience in network sales engineering, pre-sales, or field support for networking products.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet switching, routing, and data center networking architectures.
- Experience with network operating systems (SONiC, NX-OS, EOS, JunOS) preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and events.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-facing orientation.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with a network switch ODM or OEM.
- Familiarity with merchant silicon platforms (Broadcom, Marvell, Nvidia).
- Exposure to hyperscale or enterprise data center networking deployments.
- Knowledge of SDN, network automation, or telemetry solutions.
- Prior experience with RFP/RFQ processes and solution architecture support.

Annual Base Salary Range
$104k - $159k USD DOE (CA)
