Chatter Academy at Chatterbox Therapy Center is a one of a kind communication program for special needs and non-verbal children. We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to serve as Teachers, supporting our students in achieving their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of Speech Therapists and Speech Therapy Assistants.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and understanding.
  • Support students with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance as needed.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, and communicate observations to the educational team.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Understanding of disabilities and ability to implement strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
