Recreational Gymnastics Director:

Hours: 25-30 hours per week

Pay: $20+/hour (after training and depending on experience)

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe workplace and ensure the safety of all recreational gymnasts.
  • Lead and plan school-age gymnastics activities and lessons.
  • Create a fun and inviting space for recreational school-age gymnasts .
  • Provide parents and guardians with feedback as needed.
  • Create and implement a weekly/daily schedule for every school age group.
  • Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, gymnastics elements, songs, games, etc.
  • Ensure that the gym area is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the gym program.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your gymnasts' safety and their whereabouts at all times.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has some supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in class activities which include, but are not limited to gymnastics, team building initiatives, physical games, and activities.
  • Must have the ability to restrain and physically support children when needed for safety in general camp activities (child weighing pounds).

Travel:

  • No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications:

  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Prior gymnastics coaching experience
  • Prior recreational gymnastics director experience
  • Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old
