Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric care, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management for patients with mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric care practices.
- Engage in telehealth services as needed to enhance patient access to care.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry or Mental Health.
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred, including knowledge of psychopharmacology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous.
- Skills in critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care management are beneficial.
- Experience administering injections, IV infusions, and performing diagnostic evaluations is desired.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and workers' compensation law is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
