Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in our primary care solo practitioner office. This role involves supporting clinical and administrative functions within a patient focused well established medical environment, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation. The CMA will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care in outpatient setting. Applicants proficiency in EHR systems, and knowledge of medical terminology and physiology are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation
- Operate EHR systems accurately for charting patient information, ICD coding, and updating medical records
- Support physicians with clinical tasks including specimen collection including phlebotomy, and processing laboratory specimens.
- Monitor patient condition during inpatient stays or outpatient visits and report changes to healthcare providers
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment following safety protocols
- Provide patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program
- Experience in outpatient clinics, or medical-surgical units preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as X-ray or OR experience are a plus
- Strong patient service skills with excellent communication abilities
