Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, in-office Legal Assistant to provide a combination of administrative, executive, and legal support to one attorney. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who can handle a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced, professional legal setting.

You'll manage calendars, prepare documents, organize files, and communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and agencies. Experience in a legal office is preferred, but we're just as interested in your ability to learn, take initiative, and stay organized.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to one attorney
  • Open, maintain, and organize physical and digital case files
  • Draft correspondence, forms, memos, and legal documents (dictation or written)
  • Schedule meetings, closings, court deadlines, and appointments
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and external partners
  • Support document preparation for real estate, litigation, and general legal matters
  • Manage office inventory and coordinate with vendors
  • Track tasks and assist with billing or accounts receivable as needed
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with office procedures

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities
  • Professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new software

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with legal office systems or legal document preparation
  • Familiarity with real estate or litigation documents
  • Experience managing calendars and dictation transcription
  • Knowledge of court systems, e-filing, or practice management tools
  • Notary Public or willingness to obtain

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $40,000+ annually, depending on experience
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
