Job Summary
Process Engineers develop and maintain efficient, scalable, and cost-effective processes to ensure new products meet customer and headquarters standards. At Level 2, the Process Engineer operates with a high degree of independence, taking ownership of process development, validation, and improvement activities. This role leads process documentation, coordinates pilot runs, troubleshoots production issues, and drives yield and quality improvements. In addition, the Level 2 Process Engineer supports the professional growth of entry-level engineers by providing coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

The Process Engineering team plays a critical role in bringing new products into manufacturing and ensuring they can be built efficiently and at scale. Process Engineers develop process flows, define equipment and manpower requirements, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish new production lines based on customer and headquarters specifications. They validate tools and materials, lead pilot runs, train production leaders, and continuously monitor yield, quality, and performance to refine processes and support smooth mass production.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Customer Requirement Documents (CRDs) covering required hardware, firmware, labels, and tools.
  • Define assembly sequences, workstation layouts, and cycle time estimates with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate manpower, space, and equipment needs; coordinate with HR, Facility, and Operations teams to implement solutions.
  • Lead validation of incoming tools, devices, and equipment, ensuring readiness for production.
  • Plan and oversee pilot production runs, including documentation, data collection, and training.
  • Conduct routine and special audits of assembly processes to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and specifications.
  • Analyze yield and failure data, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Own and update tool/jig lists, manage repair/return processes, and ensure spare parts availability.
  • Promote safety and compliance by enforcing adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PM, RD, Production, and Quality teams to ensure readiness and timely issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, CRDs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and process flow documentation.
  • Prepare detailed reports on tooling, yield, or process performance for management and headquarters review.
  • Coach and mentor entry-level engineers, providing training, feedback, and guidance on technical and professional development.

Required Skills/Abilities: (Example of skills set)

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and assembly methods.
  • Proficiency in analyzing process data and applying tools such as SPC (Statistical Process Control), root cause analysis, and Lean methodologies.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills; ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced production environment with cross-functional collaboration.

Education And Experience
