Scrapyard Yard Inspector
Job Overview
The Yard Inspector is the front-facing, first point of contact for commercial and retail scrap customers at our scrapyard. Our team needs someone experienced, energetic, and committed to following specific processes to a "T". The Yard Inspector primarily works outdoors and engages with customers on a regular basis.
This job is physically, mentally, and interpersonally challenging. You may have one eye on a customer unloading material, another on an inbound semi trailer, while talking to a third customer and silently calculating non-metallic deduction weights for a fourth.
Things move fast here, but high-speed can't take the place of accuracy. You'll need to quickly learn our processes and 'flow' of materials -- and stick to it. Additionally, working at the front of the yard means being seen by management for a majority of the workday -- this is not a position for someone looking to 'phone it in', but if you're a workplace superstar it is the perfect position to get noticed.
We will select a handful of candidates for interviews. If we ask you to interview, please bring a physical, printed copy of your resume (with work-related references). We also hope you'll have good questions for us.

- Manage traffic to prevent jams and move vehicles in-and-out quickly.
