The Role

BrightStar Care of East Los GatosSouth San Jose is opening as a non-skilled Home Care Agency. We are seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee patient care, caregiver leadership, assist with developing policiesprocedures, and contribute to future business growth.

• Provides care as defined within the scope of the state's nurse practice act.
• Makes the initial evaluation visit, and regularly reevaluates the client's needs.
• Prepares progress notes and summaries of care.
• Assists in the development of organization goals. Develops, recommends, and administers agency policies and procedures.
• Supervises, educates, and coaches care-giving staff.
• Plans and implements in-service and training programs.
• Oversees the maintenance of client records, statistics, reports, and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities.
• Assures proper maintenance of records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Stays informed about changes in the fields of nursing and home scare. Shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
• Promotes client referrals in the health care community.

• Current unrestricted RN license in state for which care is being provided
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience with at least half of that time working in home care or related organization. Minimum 1 year of direct employee supervision
• Requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
• Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Adheres to HIPAA and maintains client confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff.
• Possesses exceptional nursing assessment skills.
• Complies with accepted professional standards of practice.
• Proven ability to build quality processes and implement improvements within the operation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Analytical/Critical thinker.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff, and community.
• Treats clients, staff and the public with courtesy and respect and presents a positive public image.
• Case management skills are a plus.
• Policy development is a plus.
• Experience with Joint Commission accreditation is a plus.
• Ability to travel on a daily basis including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $90k - $135k per year. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and experience.
