Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, demonstrating product features, and driving sales through effective communication and merchandising skills. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your sales expertise while assisting customers in finding the perfect products to meet their needs. From time to time a Sales Associate would also provide support to our receiving room manager with the intake, pricing and floor distribution of materials. This position would also have an employee coordinate and negotiate the pickup of materials using company owned vehicles.

Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service communication via telephone, email and in person by promptly and professionally assisting customers with their needs.
  • Complete the the duties requested by our Receiving Room Manager that will include unloading, moving, occasional cleaning and pricing of materials.
  • Using Company owned vehicles, travel to pickup sites to asses building material quality and load for the safe return to our retail location.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, with assistance of other team members, if needed.
  • Assist with store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting shopping environment

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus
  • Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assist during peak hours as needed
  • An ability to work in a fast paced team oriented environment
  • An ability to regularly lift 75 plus pounds
  • Moderate to extensive knowledge of building materials and their applications
  • Willingness to work in a sometimes cold warehouse environment.
  • Self Motivated with the ability to quickly shift from one responsibility to the next
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to quickly perform simple math calculations such as determining square and lumber board footage.
  • A willingness to work Saturdays
  • Forklift experience helpful but not required. Training available.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 35 per week
