Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately receive merchandise as listed on purchase orders.
  • Use receiving equipment, i.e. scan gun or other equipment, to receive and enter information
  • Stack and / or restack merchandise as needed.
  • Correctly label or relabel incoming packages within company guidelines.
  • Evaluate quality of merchandise received by examination of random cases and notifying management of any quality issues.
  • Count products to make sure it is accurate with shipping and purchasing paperwork. Notify management of any discrepancies and document the variance.
  • Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
  • Restock product, and relocate it in the warehouse using freight moving equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and, if certified, fork lifts.
  • May be asked to assist in inventory processes, or other warehouse activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Must be able to work and take direction.
  • Schedule: Monday- Saturday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with scheduled day off during the week.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to count accurately.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to evaluate product
  • Ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to use freight moving equipment (OSHA certification for forklift and pallet jacks preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work in a cold environment, approximately 32 degrees F
    Ability to lift repeatedly and safely up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Physical effort is required for lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds
  • Work is normally performed in a chilled warehouse environment, approximately 32 degrees F.
  • Twisting, bending down and over, reaching overhead and down, and standing and walking for the entire shift.
