Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Probate & Estate Planning Attorney to join our growing team. This on-site position at our Cranston office offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals and families at every stage of life. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable managing client matters from intake through resolution.
You should enjoy meeting with clients of all ages, listening attentively, and guiding them through complex and often emotional decisions regarding their estates, families, and futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of probate and trust administration, including court filings, petitions, inventories, and distributions
- Assist with drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, and health care directives
- Deed drafting
- Conduct in-person client meetings at our Cranston office, ensuring clarity and peace of mind throughout the process
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and financial institutions
- Maintain accurate records and manage deadlines using our legal case management system
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Rhode Island & Massachusetts
- Experience or strong interest in estate planning and probate
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Client-focused, empathetic, and comfortable handling sensitive matters
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and independently
- Familiarity with Clio or similar legal practice management software is preferred
