Job Description:
This position plays a key role in the design and coordination of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include hydraulic modeling, permitting support, and design production under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer (P.E.). The role involves increasing technical responsibility and collaboration with internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems
  • Develop and run hydraulic models for water and sewer systems, including static and extended period simulations
  • Support the preparation of utility service agreements and maintain tracking databases
  • Prepare permitting packages and respond to requests for additional information from regulatory agencies
  • Maintain permitting logs and contribute to documentation for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Provide design support for small wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations
  • Collaborate with subconsultants to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
  • Assist with review of contractor submittals and maintain documentation during construction phases
  • Contribute to right-of-entry coordination and easement acquisition documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • 2+ years of experience in water/wastewater design, modeling, or construction
  • Familiarity with design standards and permitting requirements for public infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MS Office Suite is preferred
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as InfoWorks, InfoWater, WaterCAD, or SewerCAD is a plus
  • Understanding of utility coordination and right-of-entry processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed
