IPM Technician

The IPM Tech position involves applying pest management efforts by applying sprays, drenches, and scouting traps as directed by the Cultivation Manager. Responsibilities also include accurately mixing and applying plant protection products, communicating schedules to the team, and recording all applications. Additionally, the role entails assisting with scouting, deploying biological controls, obtaining a supervisory license, posting warning signs, attending meetings, and supporting other departments within cultivation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for deployment of timely spray applications, drenches, and scouting of traps of crops to ensure maximum preventative IPM efforts are achieved.
• Mixing, Spraying, and Drenching plant protection products per labeled rate as directed by the Cultivation Manager/IPM Supervisor.
• Document all IPM applications daily as directed by the Cultivation Manager.
• Assist in scouting in all Veg and Flower rooms (1x weekly) per direction of Cultivation Manager/IPM Supervisor
• Assist in the deployment of biological control resources to prevent pest outbreaks.
• Post proper warning signs and actively communicate and police quarantine concerns as they emerge.
• Assist with cleaning tasks as directed by the cultivation manager / IPM lead.
• Attend Cultivation meetings as directed.
• Assist other departments within Cultivation as directed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of common cannabis plant pests and diseases is strongly preferred.
• This position works independently most of the time, so excellent time-management skills are required.
• California Department of Pesticide Regulation Private Applicator's Certification preferred.

Work Environment

• Technicians work primarily in indoor cultivation facilities where they are exposed to various environmental conditions associated with plant cultivation.
• Technicians may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high humidity, and artificial lighting for extended periods.
• Use of fertilizers, nutrients and pest management solutions may expose technicians to chemicals and organic substances. Proper safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are essential to minimize exposure risks.
• Technicians will be exposed to moderate to high levels of noise as Cultivation facilities may contain equipment such as fans, pumps, and ventilation systems.

Job Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
• Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

Schedule & Pay

• $ $23.00 Hour | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:30pm (Hours may vary)
