Our Transportation practice includes civil engineering, bridge & structural engineering, Resident Engineering and Inspection, Bridge Inspection, and geotechnical engineering.  We specialize in analysis, design, evaluation, monitoring, and rehabilitation for a wide variety of transportation infrastructure projects. We offer a wide range of expertise to support client needs for both new and existing transportation infrastructure. 

The Role

Thornton Tomasetti's Transportation practice has an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to join our Portland, ME office. The right candidate will be a highly motivated individual interested in contributing to our growing transportation team. This role will see the candidate involved in all phases of structural bridge project development including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, cost estimating, technical specifications, and reports. The right candidate will work with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers while providing technical guidance to CADD personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Designs a complete project or component of a project

  • Recognizes and solves problems

  • Conducts analyses and interprets data

  • Reviews and evaluates work for technical accuracy

  • Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects

  • Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.

  • EI License in Maine preferred

  • 0-3 years of experience in structural engineering for infrastructure

  • Experience with MaineDOT and NHDOT is a plus
