As a Games Host, you'll be at the heart of our operations, guiding guests through their visit, assisting with check-ins, and ensuring they have everything they need for a fun-filled day of games and activities.

Position Overview:

As a Games Host at Birdeez, you'll be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their entire experience. You'll assist guests with checking in, explain the rules and processes for mini-golf and darts, and ensure everything runs smoothly throughout their visit. Your role is crucial in creating a friendly, welcoming environment where guests feel comfortable, informed, and ready to enjoy their time at Birdeez. Your ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and keep things organized will help ensure that all games proceed seamlessly.

Schedule:

Saturday evenings & Large Events. December has numerous major events scheduled and as such we are looking to bring on an additional person. We can guarantee Saturday nights and many more shifts as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Check-In: Greet guests as they arrive, assist with the check-in process, and provide them with information about the venue, including mini-golf, darts, quiz room, and food options.
  • Mini-Golf Assistance: Guide guests to their golf stations, explain the rules of play, and ensure that they have everything they need (e.g., clubs, balls). Monitor course activity to ensure everything is running smoothly.
  • Darts Assistance: Assist guests with using the technology-driven darts system, provide instructions on gameplay, and help troubleshoot any issues that arise during their game.
  • Game Flow Management: Ensure that guests are aware of any wait times for games, help direct them to their next activity, and maintain the overall flow of games (e.g., mini-golf and darts) to keep things moving efficiently.
  • Guest Experience: Create a fun and welcoming environment for guests, answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring that everyone is having a great time. Address any guest concerns or issues in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Event Coordination: Assist with organizing group events, birthday parties, or special occasions. Help set up for private events and ensure guests have an excellent experience from start to finish.
  • Troubleshooting: Be proactive in identifying any issues with equipment or games, and address them quickly. Provide basic troubleshooting support for mini-golf and darts technology, and escalate more technical issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure guests are following safety guidelines, particularly in relation to darts and mini-golf play. Help maintain a safe, clean environment and report any hazards or accidents promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with bartenders, servers, and other staff members to ensure that guest needs are met, and that games and service are running smoothly across the venue.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service or a guest-facing role (hospitality, entertainment, retail, etc.) is preferred. Experience in gaming or event hosting is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Comfortable using technology (e.g., darts system, check-in software) and guiding guests through digital platforms.
  • Personality: Friendly, energetic, and approachable, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, fun environment and interacting with guests of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the venue to assist guests. Must be able to assist with any physical needs related to mini-golf (e.g., handling equipment).
  • Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking and adaptable, with the ability to resolve issues or answer questions that may arise during guests' visits.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
