Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our operations. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, system design, and programming languages, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Duties

  • Develop and implement control systems for various applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and rectify issues within existing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design schematics and system layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
  • Utilise programming languages such as Python, C++, and Perl for system automation and control logic development.
  • Perform debugging and testing of firmware to ensure functionality meets design specifications.
  • Engage in signal processing tasks to enhance system performance.
  • Provide mechanical knowledge to support the integration of controls with hardware components.
  • Maintain documentation of designs, processes, and modifications for compliance and future reference.

Skills

  • Proficient in System on Chip (SoC) design principles.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering with experience in programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT) and soldering techniques.
  • Competence in using MATLAB and Simulink for simulation purposes.
  • Ability to conduct effective debugging processes to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience with CAD software for creating detailed designs and schematics. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to continuous improvement within the engineering domain.
