Summary:

The Grassroots Soccer Clinic Coach will lead Pre-K and/or Kindergarten Recreational League teams during our Saturday morning soccer program. Each weekly session is one hour in length and combines both a practice and game experience. The coach is responsible for organizing and leading a 30-minute practice focused on fun, age-appropriate skill development and teamwork, followed immediately by coaching a 30-minute game against another team.

Coaches may be assigned up to three consecutive sessions on Saturday mornings, working with a different team each hour. This allows coaches to impact multiple teams in a fun, fast-paced environment while ensuring every group receives quality instruction and guidance.

This role emphasizes creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere where young players can build confidence, learn the fundamentals of soccer, and develop a love for the game. Coaches receive session plans, support, and ongoing communication from the program director.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead up to three Pre-K or Kindergarten teams in consecutive one-hour sessions each Saturday.
  • Facilitate a 30-minute structured practice followed by a 30-minute game for each team.
  • Create a fun, encouraging environment that promotes learning and sportsmanship.
  • Communicate effectively with players, families, and program staff.
  • Ensure player safety and maintain a positive game-day atmosphere.

Schedule:

  • Saturdays; up to 3 consecutive one-hour sessions (practice + game each session)
  • Spring 2026: April and May
  • Time Block: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment
  • Enjoys working with young children and creating a fun, energetic atmosphere.
  • Has basic knowledge of soccer or youth sports coaching.
  • Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic about youth development through sport.

Physical Requirements:

  • The job may require the individual to function in high activity indoor and outdoor sports venues and the individual may be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be required to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
  • The individual may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
