Dispensing Pharmacist

We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Dispensing Pharmacist to join our high-volume mail order pharmacy team. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient verification, processing, and dispensing of prescriptions while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The pharmacist will also provide clinical guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and uphold the highest standards of patient safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesDispensing & Verification

  • Perform final verification of all prescriptions prior to dispensing.
  • Ensure accuracy of drug selection, dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
  • Review patient medication profiles for potential interactions, contraindications, or therapy duplications.
  • Maintain compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, USP standards, and company policies.

Workflow & Production Oversight

  • Oversee and support pharmacy technicians in prescription data entry, labeling, filling, and packaging.
  • Monitor daily production metrics to ensure high-volume mail order processing goals are met.
  • Address dispensing errors, workflow issues, or quality concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Contribute to continuous workflow optimization and best practices for efficiency and accuracy.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal audits, quality assurance processes, and inventory controls.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of all prescription medications, including controlled substances.
  • Stay current with state and federal pharmacy laws, guidelines, and industry trends.

Patient & Provider Interaction

  • Communicate with prescribers to clarify orders, resolve discrepancies, or review therapeutic issues.
  • Provide professional consultation to patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and adherence when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
