BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Sr Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's site in Minneapolis, MN. This role will support the development or modification of processes, define process equipment requirements and specifications, and review processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscopes. The selected candidate will influence the planning and designing of manufacturing processes, determine equipment and tools needed to meet product specifications, support daily production activities, and drive producibility improvement projects in a dynamic environment.

- What experiences do you have with manufacturing related to optical systems/components (glass polishing, mirror coating, testing, optical alignment)?
- What experiences do you have working with optical metrology and/or modeling?
- Do you have any experience in glass machining, glass polishing, optical measurements, deposition or coating processes, cleanrooms, or cleaning practices?
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide test and manufacturing support for components of the ring laser gyro product line.
- Analyze current process controls for optical components and develop additional methods to measure and control manufacturing processes.
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
- Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
- Assist development of new products.
- Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
- Facilitate a self-driven workforce culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.
- Test products and software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Optics, Physics, or Mathematics. And 5+ years experience.
- Product or process engineering experience.
- Experience with optical systems, components, and modeling.
- Experience with optical metrology.
- Experience with product yield management and improvement.
- Experience in manufacturing of products for regulated industries (aerospace, medical, automotive).
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
- Hands-on work ethic, initiative, and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
- Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members across functions.
- Quickly and accurately identifying subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across the value stream).
- Conveying information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams.
- Root Cause Corrective Action / Lean / Six Sigma.
