Summary:
The Director of Supply Chain provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, warehouse, and distribution. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and complaint flow of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across the organization. The Director partners closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Quality to support company goals related to productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and production demands,
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency, cost management, and service levels.
- Intense, cross-functional collaboration across the enterprise, managing processes and structures designed to ensure reliable sourcing of critical materials while mitigating risks in business continuity and product availability.
- Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging, and services to ensure quality, cost and delivery performance.
- Mitigate supply risk by developing secondary sourcing strategies and monitoring market trends.
- Drive data integrity in NetSuite and RedZone systems to ensure accuracy reporting and decision-making.
- Work with senior leaders to accomplish organizational goals Collaborate with other divisions such as plant operations and finance to drive cross-functional alignment.
- Lead team to identify opportunities to develop, improve or simplify processes, guidelines and policies for effective supplier management practices, order fulfillment, inventory management and Supply Chain activities.
- Define the Supply Chain systems used by the company and the methodology required to solve potential problems in systems and operational methods.
- Define and implement the criteria applicable to the traceability of the flow of products.
- Establish general criteria regarding the rating and selection of suppliers, as well as the integration and externalization criteria applicable to Supply chain functions.
- Assess the need for resources and the extent of the work to be done with distributors, customers and suppliers as a result.
- Evaluate the costs of strategic planning and review planning methods and procedures, taking initiatives to reduce losses, implementing improvement plans and provide advice regarding the optimization of the various components of the Supply Chain function.
- Take strategic decisions, aiming for profits and economies of scale according to market needs.
- Analyze trends and track performance levels. Ensure a smooth and effective delivery by utilizing relevant analytical tools and software.
- Develop and implement a strategic operating plan that supports the organization's vision and goals.
- Drive annual planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting.
- Implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain functions.
- Serve as a leader and role model creating an initiative-taking, empowering and collaborative culture where employees are equipped and driven to excel.
- Make sound hiring decisions with effective development of personnel including training, career development, discipline and succession planning.
- Performs ad-hoc duties and responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field. Master's Degree in Business preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 10-years of progressive experience in Supply Chain or Operations within a food manufacturing or consumer packaging goods environment.
- Experience with NetSuite and RedZone.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate about complex issues with senior management.
- Ability to make strategic recommendations based on data and best practices.
- Experience driving large, system-wide projects through facilitation, influence, and collaboration.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Bilingual in Spanish is an asset.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with strong business acumen.
- Up to date knowledge on FDA, USDA, SQF, CFIA, CODEX and local guidelines.
- Must have proven excellent decision-making ability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56, $68,400.52 per year
