Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience with various engineering tools and technologies.

Job Requirements:

4 year engineering degree or an equivalent 3-5 years engineering or press experience in automotive manufacturing, presses, and operations.

Must be able to read machine/part/die drawings and make requested changes to drawings

Must be able to understand the structure of presses and dies

Must be able to conceptualize and implement continuous improvement in problematic areas

Ability to conduct die trials and troubleshoot dies

CAD (Auto CAD, Ideas) and MS Office experience a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

· Consider safety in all engineering design and modifications to ensure press department safety

· Report any safety violations to immediate supervisor

· Investigate requests by quality control for root causes of process defects

· Down time reduction: Review press area machinery and equipment; Review die modifications; Arrange and oversee repairs and modifications to be performed by vendors on press machinery and equipment

· Increase productivity by providing press engineering support in Kaizen activities

· Setup and check press conditions to optimize press quality and performance

· Operator skill level enhancement (Training)

· SPM Improvement through Kaizen activity (motion max achievement)

· Negotiate with vendors on the purchase of material and supplies related to engineering/press projects

· Study and suggest cost reduction ideas

· Write and maintain standards for press auxiliary equipment.

· Plan and facilitate new die adoption

· Project planning and management of press capital expenditures

· Smartification implementation for automation and headcount reduction activities

· Time studies to validate processes and understand gaps to target

· Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63, $94,560.00 per year
