Role: Cloud Solutions Architect (Enterprise & Multi-Cloud Modernization) Senior-Level

Position Summary:

The Senior Cloud Architect provides strategic and technical leadership in the design, modernization, and governance of cloud-based enterprise solutions supporting the Defense Health Agency's mission-critical operations. This role leads multi-cloud and hybrid architecture design, ensures interoperability across secure domains, and drives alignment with DoD, RMF, and Zero Trust mandates. The architect partners with engineering, cybersecurity, and program leadership to deliver resilient, compliant, and cost-effective solutions that advance the government's digital modernization priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead enterprise cloud strategy development, aligning modernization initiatives with mission objectives and DoD digital transformation priorities
• Architect and design hybrid and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle) integrating security, automation, and scalability principles.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud service alternatives, ensuring cost-efficiency, security compliance, and performance optimization.
• Champion cloud adoption across stakeholders, driving cultural and operational change toward agile, cloud-native practices.
• Establish and enforce cloud governance frameworks, including configuration management, tagging, and cost control standards.
• Integrate security-by-design principles, working with RMF, ATO, and Zero Trust teams to align architectures with DoD and DHA mandates.
• Guide mid- and junior-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuity across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support data-driven modernization, incorporating automation, AI/ML, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to enhance decision-making and operational resilience.
• Document and communicate cloud architectures through DoDAF-compliant views (e.g., SV-1, OV-5b, AV-2) and executive-level briefings.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or related equivalent additional experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, or governing enterprise cloud environments within DoD, IC, or other federal domains.
• Demonstrated expertise with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures, including FedRAMP, DISA IL5/IL6, and Zero Trust implementations.

Certifications (strongly desired, one or more):

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• VMware Certified Professional – Cloud Management and Automation (VCP-CMA)
• CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) or CISSP (for security alignment)

Desired:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
• Experience architecting solutions using AI/ML, Data Lake architectures, or Automation frameworks.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw).
• Senior-level experience working in IC or DOD programs.
• Knowledge of DoDAF, TOGAF, and ITIL frameworks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $160,000.00 per year
