We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to join our Housekeeping team and ensure that all public and outdoor areas reflect the cleanliness and elegance that define The Savoy experience.

Position Summary

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of all public and outdoor spaces throughout the hotel, including the lobby, hallways, pool deck, beach access areas, and restrooms. This role ensures that every guest encounters a pristine and welcoming environment that reflects The Savoy's "Barefoot Luxury" standards.

Key Responsibilities

Public Areas & Outdoor Maintenance

  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain all public spaces including the lobby, corridors, restrooms, elevators, pool area, and outdoor walkways.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, glass doors, and fixtures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck, beach access, and surrounding areas, including removing trash and replacing towels as needed.
  • Clean outdoor furniture, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and common-use amenities.
  • Monitor restrooms and public spaces throughout the day to ensure they are fully stocked and presentable.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects such as pressure washing, polishing, or seasonal deep cleaning.

Guest Interaction & Team Support

  • Greet guests courteously and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost-and-found items to the supervisor immediately.
  • Support the housekeeping and maintenance teams during peak periods or special events.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with health department and hotel standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred (hotel or resort experience a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physically able to lift, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies (up to 40 lbs).
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
