Night Shift Team Lead – 12-Hour Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Team Lead is an integral member of the Production Team and makes contributions to our bottom line by ensuring each shift's personnel, materials, and machinery are all working most effectively.  This position works closely with the coordinating Shift Supervisor and other Team Leads to help direct and support our daily work.  An ideal candidate will be able to leverage their stellar communication and leadership skills along with operational knowledge to effectively support our Production Team. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and support your shift's Production Team
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of machinery
• Conduct basic maintenance or assist Operators in maintenance of machinery
• Ensure everyone on your shift is working safely
• Ensure all items produced meet Paterson's quality standards
• Assist with new hire and existing employee training on machinery
• Learn the operation of our manufacturing equipment and processes with an awareness for process improvement
• Communicate effectively and professionally to build strong relationships with your team
• Work effectively as part of a team and inspire your direct reports and colleagues to deliver top results

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of manufacturing best practices
• Knowledge of Paterson machinery/operations/SOPs
• Knowledge of computer programs, including MS Office and ERP systems
• Knowledge of lean practices
• Knowledge of safe working practices
• Skill in oral and written communication
• Skill in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making
• Skill in building and maintaining internal and external relationships
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively motivate teams
• Ability to foster an environment committed to safety
• Ability to flexible, self-directed, and motivated to improve processes
• Ability to be patient and adaptable to unforeseen changes
• Ability to prioritize rapidly while utilizing problem solving skills
• Ability to maintain records, review document for accuracy, and organize, document, and track production orders
• Ability to develop and leverage relationships with vendors
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and company management
• Ability to research and analyze information and make thoughtful recommendations to management

Education, Experience, and Certification:

• 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting; previous experience in printing or paper converting preferred
• Higher education/Certificate Programs in related fields (Management, Operations, Manufacturing, etc.) are preferred

Work Schedule:
12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:15 AM). Work Sunday–Tuesday every week with every other Saturday rotating schedule.
