About Orant Charities

Orant Charities is a humanitarian nonprofit improving lives and empowering

communities in rural Malawi through healthcare, education, clean water, agriculture, and

women's empowerment. Our U.S.-based team works closely with our Malawi staff to

create lasting, measurable change.

We're looking for a motivated Lead Development Officer to lead fundraising, donor

engagement, and development strategy in the U.S. This role is ideal for a creative, self-

starting professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment.

What You'll Do

Manage a multi-year fundraising plan that aligns with Orant's goals, including improving

on exiting framework.

Cultivate relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors, acquire new

donors and grow Orant's fundraising.

Plan and oversee donor events, including an annual fundraising gala, bingo fundraiser,

end of year giving, and others.

Identify and apply for grant opportunities.

Support our student sponsorship program and communicate with U.S. sponsors.

Collaborate with the Communications team on fundraising campaigns and marketing

materials.

Represent Orant at community events and donor meetings in the DFW area.

Maintain donor records and acknowledgments in DonorPerfect.

Provide quarterly and annual fundraising reports to the Board of Directors.

Occasionally travel to Malawi to gain deeper insight into Orant's programs.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or development.

Proven success managing donor portfolios and meeting fundraising goals.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Experience with donor databases (DonorPerfect or similar).

Must be based in the Denton-Dallas–Fort Worth area with ability to attend in-person

events, travel to our Dallas offices once a week or more, and meet with donors in-

person as needed.

Highly self-motivated, flexible, and comfortable working on a small team.

Job Details

  • Location: Hybrid remote and in-person (DFW Metroplex, TX)

  • Schedule: Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week, more as needed

  • Compensation: $70,000 annually

  • Benefits: Health care coverage, 15 days PTO (vacation/sick), fuel and expense

reimbursement, professional development opportunities, and travel to Malawi
