Senior Field Reliability Technician – Industrial Electro‑Mechanical Systems
7 days ago
Picture this: you arrive on a bustling factory floor, machines humming, production teams counting on you. You listen to a drive, watch a sensor chain, trace a fault through a control panel, and bring a critical line back to life. As a Senior Field Reliability Technician, you'll own complex corrective and preventive maintenance, partner with customer teams to improve reliability, and keep equipment performing at its peak—wherever it's needed across the U.S.
A day in the role- Execute expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance: observe operating equipment to pinpoint root causes, methodically disassemble assemblies, inspect components for wear or defects, adjust mechanisms and control instruments, repair or replace parts, and validate performance through mechanical and electrical testing.
- Recondition and repair machine tools while upholding industry standards of quality and safety.
- Source parts, supplies, and repair materials; weigh alternatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce cost.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with customer counterparts to refine maintenance strategies, reliability practices, and PM procedures.
- Operate machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate or restore parts; perform welding when required.
- Document all work in service reports and applicable management systems, clearly communicating observations and performance data trends.
- Serve as a technical resource: mentor junior technicians and contribute leadership to project teams.
- Diagnose sophisticated control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
- Leverage advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, spot patterns, and recommend improvements.
- Pursue ongoing growth through on‑the‑job training and self‑directed technical study.
- Champion safety at all times—follow policies, maintain situational awareness, and identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Adhere to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate degree with a technical focus and 10+ years of directly related industry experience; or 12+ years of related industry experience.
- Deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to analyze issues, propose alternatives, and execute repairs.
- Proficiency with standard hand tools and specialized tools appropriate to the work.
- Extensive travel (local and/or national). Applicants may live anywhere within the Continental United States.
