SUMMARY
Step into a dynamic role at the heart of financial operations This position is a key support role reporting directly to the Controller and plays a vital part in driving the financial health of multiple business entities. You'll gain hands-on experience and cross-functional exposure in areas such as Accounts Payable and Receivable, General Ledger management, Cash Flow oversight, Accrual Accounting, Payroll, Tax compliance, and Budgeting. From preparing financial statements to conducting in-depth financial analysis, this role offers a comprehensive dive into the core of corporate finance—with plenty of opportunities to grow and make an impact.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Prepares accurate monthly/quarterly/annual reports for internal and external reporting (for investors, banks, and any compliance requirement) for assigned and/or special project entities and other entities as needed
- Completion of period-end substantive balance sheet account reconciliation (including bank reconciliation) with an emphasis on identifying & correcting reconciling items in a timely manner
- Tax Processing
- Mortgage Processing
- Accrual Accounting – Accrual entries will be reviewed for necessity for all major expense items (payroll, utilities, taxes, insurance, lawn care, etc.) and recurring monthly items (phone, internet, advertising, etc.
- Financial Statement Review
- Fixed Assets
- Limited Partnership Reporting
- Homeowner Association Accounting
- Replacement Reserve Processing
- Cash and Bank Reconciliations
- Budget Variance Analysis
- Other tasks and projects as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university required
- 1-2 years of professional experience in the Accounting field.
- Property Management experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Yardi software is helpful.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, advanced knowledge is preferred.
- Must have the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas and have strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks
- Must have a clear understanding of business and financial terminology.
- Should have the ability to apply reasonable logic to common problems and determine appropriate course of action, as well as predict a possible outcome based upon a course of action.
