Duties

  • Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper cleaning techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all areas are organized and free of clutter.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients when needed to support kitchen operations.
  • Support catering and banquet setups by ensuring all serving ware is clean and ready for use.
  • Help with general kitchen cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping floors, emptying trash bins, and sanitizing work surfaces to uphold health standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of clean dishes during busy service periods.
  • Follow food handling safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service to support smooth restaurant operations.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service environments such as restaurants, hotels, catering events or banquet settings.
  • Knowledge of food handling procedures and sanitation standards essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
  • Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks like peeling or portioning ingredients when required.
  • Familiarity with cleaning routines specific to commercial kitchens including dishwashing machines and sanitation practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Excellent teamwork skills; able to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays or equipment.
