LKS GROUP INC is a rapidly growing logistics and fleet management company based in Allentown, PA. We specialize in the maintenance and repair of a fleet of over 30 semi-trucks, primarily Freightliner, Volvo, and International units. We are currently seeking a part-time Diesel Diagnostic Technician with strong diagnostic and mechanical skills to support our shop operations.
Position Overview
As a Diagnostic Technician, you will play a key role in accurately identifying issues in heavy-duty trucks and supporting our mechanical team in completing timely and effective repairs. This is a part-time position intended to strengthen the diagnostic process and reduce truck downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform computer-based diagnostics using tools such as Cummins Insite, JPro, or OEM software
- Identify root causes for fault codes, performance issues, and alerts
- Support the repair planning process by clearly documenting required repairs and parts
- Provide guidance to junior mechanics on diagnostic procedures
- Assist with repairs when needed (light mechanical tasks)
- Maintain proper logs and communicate issues to the Fleet Shop Manager
- Follow DOT and OSHA safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience
- Advanced knowledge in engine diagnostics (Cummins, Volvo, Mack preferred)
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Must have own basic tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.)
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Schedule
- Part-time: 25 to 30hr per week.
- Schedule will be set weekly based on diagnostic demand
- Flexibility for urgent evaluations is a plus
