Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating cakes, with a keen eye for detail and design. This role involves creating beautiful and delicious cakes for various occasions, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The Cake Decorator will work closely with the kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow in food production while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Prepare cake batter, fillings, and frostings, ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Package finished products for display or delivery, maintaining quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with team members in food preparation and production tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of baking supplies and ingredients.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients to understand their cake design needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Background in food production or culinary arts preferred, including pastry experience.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Strong baking skills with the ability to create various types of cakes and pastries.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment used in cake decoration.
- Previous experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
