Senior Quality Assurance Analyst – IT Healthcare Exp Required

Position Type: Contract (12 months, possibility of extension)

Work Location: Columbia, South Carolina -Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Residency Requirement: Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate prior to start (at own expense).

Interview Process: One round, virtual/online

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Tester will be assigned to complex, change oriented projects in the healthcare domain. Candidates who enjoy working on large, dynamic initiatives will find this position attractive. The role focuses on advanced testing of small to large projects, ensuring reliability, stability, and compliance with established governance standards.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
  • 7+ years building test cases and scenarios into test systems
  • 4+ years of experience testing IBM Curam software
  • Ability to document and support development of test scenarios/cases and execute testing activities
  • Strong communication skills to publish status reports and articulate issues to development teams

Preferred Skills

  • 7+ years of experience with large enterprise or e business systems
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare operations (Medicaid preferred)
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience in both Waterfall SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field (experience may substitute for education)

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, QA/UAT processes, and test cases for product management and software development teams
  • Design and support user interface testing applications and regression testing software
  • Test software applications for reliability, stability, and usability (including negative testing)
  • Lead projects to perform quality assessments that expose defects, security flaws, and optimization opportunities
  • Create and run automated testing scripts; oversee deployment of tests
  • Document QA results, defects, and recommendations in reports and governance artifacts
  • Maintain databases with product defects, user reviews, survey information, and functional improvements
  • Collaborate with development teams to recommend solutions that maximize performance and efficiency
  • Perform reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections in line with governance standards
