Job Description
The VoIP Technician will assist with VoIP deployment projects and/or operations under the direction and guidance of immediate supervisor and/or other VoIP Engineers. This is a developmental role and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated a high aptitude and/or potential for a career within the technology industry and a desire to work with VoIP technologies.

Essential Functions

  • Assist deployment and/or operations team(s) with VoIP deployments and/or operations (85%)

  • Take direction from senior engineers from the implementation and/or operations team as well as direct supervisor for career training and skill development

  • Accurately document deployment and/or operations processes (15%)

  • Exchange information, verbally and in writing, clearly, accurately, reliably, and timely

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Four years of High School
  • Vocational Training or College Degree is desired
  • CompTIA A+, N+, Cisco CCENT is desired

Experience/ Background

  • 1-5 years of general IT experience
  • VoIP or technology implementation experience in a small to mid-sized corporation/ or service provider infrastructures
  • Some experience with technology or strong aptitude for technology based on Director level assessment

Preferred Skills

  • Customer Service and Desktop support
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Unified Communication Managers (CUCM) groups
  • Provides expert technical support and troubleshooting on existing VoIP networks, services, system upgrades, and equipment to the customer
  • Take direction and mentorship from senior staff members
  • Demonstrated high aptitude and/or potential for a career within the technology industry
  • Desire to work with VoIP technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to document processes clearly
  • Can rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Can work independently or within a project team

Work Environment

  • Primarily in office/hybrid for VoIP operations and projects with team of engineers.
