Description Of Work
This position serves as a support to college business officials and reports to the Director of College Technical Resource & Support, located at the system office in Raleigh. This is an administrative position responsible for providing functional and technical guidance, training, support, and direction in problem resolution for assigned functional areas at the 58 community colleges. The person in this position must have a thorough knowledge of the assigned functional area applications and the relationships that exist with these applications and other applications to provide necessary training and support. This position must be able to work independently and directly with functional end-users at multiple colleges as well as personnel at the System Office. This position is a member of the College Finance, System Support and reports to the Director of the Technical Resources located at the System Office in Raleigh, N.C. This team, comprised of three (3) College SMEs and the director, is responsible for providing centralized application support, functional training, and operational help-desk support for the enterprise resource planning utilities commonly referred to as the college accounting system (Colleague/Ellucian). The College Technical Resource & Support team software focus-area modules include:a. Financial System: Accounts Payable, Budget Management, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Financial Statements, Inventory, Physical Plant, Purchasing, Student Refunds, Projects Accountingb. Human Resources: Communication Management, Personnel, Payroll, Position Budgeting, Projects Accounting.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities/Management Preferences

  • Provide expertise, guidance, resources and support to 58 community colleges in the assigned areas.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance and direction in problem resolution for assigned functional areas (AR/CR, Student Account activity, Financial Aid postings, other Accounts Receivable, etc.) to the 58 community colleges.
  • Participate in the identification of application training needs and provide application training to college end-users.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of the accepted accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business systems, regulations, and processes.
  • Experience in analyzing issues and problems and proposing solutions in problem resolution and accurate resolution strategies.
  • Experience in using appropriate analysis techniques to diagnose problems and develop solutions, including workflow and process improvements with internal and external customers using written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's degree from appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with two years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
