Senior Project Manager

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Full time position available with Haworth's largest, global contract furniture dealer. Established in 1981, we are a 2nd generation, family-owned company looking for the ideal candidate to join our team.

Our clients range from local businesses to some of the largest companies on the globe with projects ranging from a single office to a fully furnished new building.

Senior Project Managers provide technical design and project management services in support of the sales efforts of the company. Persons in this role plan, direct and coordinate activities of the designated project to ensure goals and/or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Duties Include
:

  • Reviewing project proposals to determine time frame, budget limitations, procedures for accomplishing project and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Confer with salesperson to outline workplan, duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Participate in proposal presentations to the client; represent Project Management as a member of the FMG Team.

·      Establishing work plan for each phase of project, ship dates and arranging for installation personnel.

·      Maintain project folders for each project for reference and documentation upon completion of project.

·      Conduct or attend initial internal/external project team meeting to establish points of contact, roles and responsibilities.

·      Point-of-Contact for the customer.

·      Responsible to know/understand customer requirements through direct contact and meet or exceed their expectations.

·      Interact with all FMG departments and client throughout project.

·      Participation in the Design "Pre-Order" meeting.

·      Manage multiple projects through completion with salesperson or account manager.

·      Verify through various internal systems acknowledged ship dates.

·      Compare acknowledgment to order and space plan.

  • Conduct or attend external project meetings with trades and other team members.
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation project team meetings.
  • Initiate changes as necessary.
  • Conduct internal pre-installation job site visit with Design and Lead Installer.

·      Direct and coordinate activities of installation personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

  • Identify and document any changes to the established scope of work, advise client, provide cost estimates and associated documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary punch list walk through with lead installer, oversee resolution of all punch issues.
  • Conduct final punch list walk through with client.
  • Verify all project costing documentation.

·      Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Requirements:

·      Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from a four-year college or university; or two plus years of related experience in the management of projects through contract furniture project coordination/management, account management, facilities planning/coordination or related area.

Senior designation based on 10 years+ experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated sense of project ownership and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously as required.
  • Ability to successfully manage stressful situation and adhere to deadlines.
  • Organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize and conduct various sizes and types of project meetings.
  • Problem solving and resourcefulness skills.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of at least one major systems furniture product line.

  • Demonstrated ability to read design space plans and furniture specifications.

·      Requires a personal vehicle for transportation to client sites.

·      Must maintain current driver's license and vehicle insurance.

·      Will be required to be in warehouse and construction sites at times.
