Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant_ (with a minimum of 2 years in dermatology) _to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our Physician by ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for clinical tasks, contributing to the overall patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Perform intake assessments including vital signs and medical history documentation
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and manage patient data efficiently
  • Support outpatient and inpatient care by coordinating with nursing staff and physicians
  • Utilize knowledge of ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation
  • Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and basic life support (BLS) standards
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience through effective communication and service

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting such as dermatology or hospital medicine is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding
  • Familiarity with ModMed EMA systems to manage patient records efficiently
  • Basic life support certification required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or surgical assistance are a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and care quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism
