Golf Course Mechanic

Job Summary:
The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and performance of all golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on all golf course equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts and tools
- Sharpen and adjust mowing equipment for optimal turf care
- Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for daily operations
- Assist with training staff on proper use and care of equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment
- Collaborate with the superintendent to plan equipment needs and priorities
Skills
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter, to assess mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment repair (golf course, landscaping, or similar industries)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, gasoline and diesel engines, and small engine repair
- Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and maintain logs
- Welding and fabrication skills a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
