Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Project Planner for Schedule Control is responsible for supporting the successful planning and execution of major capital projects by coordinating project schedules, aligning departmental priorities, and optimizing the use of resources across the Engineering Center. This role provides critical insight through schedule oversight, financial reporting, and project performance analysis to help guide informed decision-making. The position works closely with departmental leaders and project teams to ensure timely progress, accurate documentation, and compliance with internal standards and client requirements. Additionally, the Project Planner contributes to ongoing improvements in project tracking systems, cost control processes, and reporting methods to enhance operational efficiency and project delivery outcomes.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Project Scheduling & Process Oversight - Lead the coordination and oversight of expansion project schedules, ensuring timely execution of EC-approved B1 improvement projects. Evaluate schedule impacts, anticipate delays, and recommend adjustments based on overall project priorities and resource availability. Collaborate with department managers and project PICs to resolve conflicts, maintain progress, and ensure accurate data flow within Smart Completions (SC) and the Smart Dbase Exchange (SDx) systems. Support process enhancements that improve the consistency and efficiency of digital handovers to Operations and Maintenance.

Strategic Reporting - Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly performance reports—including Efficiency Reports, Revenue Reports, Cash Flow Statements, and B1 Summaries—for both the EC Texas and Baton Rouge sites. Analyze key performance data across multiple systems (AS400, EC Tracking Database, SC, SDx, etc.) and provide insight on emerging trends, risks, or opportunities. Ensure reporting supports strategic planning and decision-making by leadership. Recommend improvements to data collection, analysis methods, and reporting processes where appropriate.

Cost & Budget Control - Monitor departmental and divisional budgets, identifying variances and offering recommendations to maintain financial alignment with project goals. Use historical and current data to develop informed budget forecasts and participate in the development of annual budgets for both departments and the broader EC Division. Provide input on resource allocation decisions and support efforts to improve financial performance through cost-saving measures and process efficiencies.

Process Improvement - Evaluate current scheduling, documentation, and cost control processes to identify areas for improvement. Conduct audits or assessments to inform system or procedural changes that increase accuracy, reduce redundancy, or streamline workflows. Work closely with Engineering Center leadership and system users to implement updates to project tracking tools, digital documentation systems, and reporting structures that support overall project and business objectives.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous Related Experience Required
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a direct job-related field, which includes at least one (1) year within a maintenance or operations department of a petrochemical plant or refinery; three years of experience is preferred.
• Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
• Hexagon software tools, e.g., Smart Data Exchange (SDx), Smart Completions (SC). Safety Certification or safety classes are a plus, but not required.
• Prepare and manage Excel loader files to import data into Smart Tool software efficiently and accurately.
• Personal computer/laptop/tablet skills along with Engineering Design Tools e.g. SPID, SPI, SRD, S3D.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through clear business writing and strong interpersonal skills.
• Education
• High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required, or an associate degree with three (3) years of direct job-related experience preferred, or a bachelor's degree with one (1) year of direct job-related experience preferred.
