Spray Technician
Location: Prescott, AZ
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
About Us
We are Northern Arizona's premiere pre-emergent weed control company. Our customers want professional, expert weed control help, so that's what we give them.
The #1 Requirement: Uncompromising Integrity
Before reading the technical requirements, please know that integrity is the most important qualification for this role.
As a Spray Technician, you will work independently. You will be responsible for mixing chemicals correctly, treating every square inch of a property thoroughly, and operating safely—even when no one is watching.
- If you are the type of person who does the job right simply because that's who you are, you will thrive here.
- If you need to be micromanaged to ensure quality standards are met, please do not apply.
What You Will Do
Your primary goal is to apply pre-emergent herbicides to residential and commercial properties to prevent weed growth.
- Application: Operate spray equipment (backpack sprayers, hose reels, or ride-on spreaders) to apply control products evenly and effectively.
- Calibration & Mixing: Accurately measure and mix chemicals according to label instructions and company standards.
- Inspection: Inspect properties for potential issues, identifying specific weed types or landscape challenges.
- Equipment Care: Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of spray equipment, pumps, and vehicles.
- Communication: briefly interact with clients in a professional, friendly manner and leave clear service notes.
What We Are Looking For
- Trustworthiness: A track record of reliability and honesty.
- Attention to Detail: You understand that "mostly sprayed" isn't good enough. You cover the edges and difficult spots.
- Physical Stamina: This is an active job. You must be able to lift 50+ lbs, walk several miles a day, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Driver's License: A clean driving record is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, pest control, or chemical application is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with the right character.
- Licensing: Arizona Applicator License is preferred. However, if you do not have a license, and we believe you're right for this position, we will pay to have you earn your license.
Why Work With Us?
- Competitive Pay: We pay above industry average ($25-$30/hr) because we demand above-average quality.
- Autonomy: We trust our team. Once trained, you are the captain of your route.
- Respect: We treat our employees with the same respect we expect them to show our customers.
