Job Summary

This role involves developing curriculum, managing classroom activities, and supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive development in a safe and supportive setting.

Duties

  • Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with educational standards and developmental milestones
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and learning
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies
  • Assess individual student progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing when applicable
  • Incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects into daily activities
  • Support children with special needs through early intervention strategies and individualized instruction
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of student development and classroom activities
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed to promote child welfare at all times
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, curriculum development, and teaching techniques

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management
  • Familiarity with preschool classroom experience, daycare settings, or private schools
  • Ability to work effectively with children of various ages including toddlers and preschoolers
  • Knowledge of special education needs and behavior management techniques
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience with literacy education, math instruction, and teaching physical education is a plus
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning styles including Montessori or other specialized approaches
  • Childcare experience combined with a genuine passion for early childhood education is essential
