Summary

As a Child Care Center Cook at De Colores Child Development Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our young learners receive nutritious and delicious meals. This position is essential in supporting the health and well-being of our children while contributing to a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and children's preferences.
  • Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure availability.
  • Collaborate with childcare staff to accommodate special dietary requirements.
  • Assist in training staff on food safety practices and meal preparation techniques.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to prepare healthy meals that cater to young children's tastes and nutritional needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience in catering or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required.
