Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in kitchen management, with experience in casual dining. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while leading a team of culinary professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and development to create innovative dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Assist in catering events, managing food service logistics and staff coordination.
  • Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary for optimal efficiency.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food production, culinary arts, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and food handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with fine dining standards and restaurant management principles.
  • Excellent cooking skills with an understanding of various cuisines and dietary needs.
  • Ability to plan menus that cater to diverse tastes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Experience in shift management within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Background in hospitality or customer service is highly desirable.
