Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Activities Engagement Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in fostering community involvement and enhancing program participation through various activities and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in volunteer management, public health, and social work, along with excellent leadership and organizational skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working collaboratively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients in developing social and life skills during outings, such as communication, money management, and public interaction.
  • Encourage participation in community activities that match clients' interests, abilities, and personal goals.
  • Ensure client safety and well-being during all outings, maintaining awareness of each individual's physical and emotional needs.
  • Document daily activities, progress, and incidents in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality requirements.
  • Model appropriate behavior and positive social interactions in public settings.
  • Adapt activities and environments to support inclusion and accommodate client needs.
  • Transport clients safely to and from community activities, ensuring compliance with all driving and safety regulations.Respond appropriately to behavioral, medical, or emergency situations while maintaining professionalism and calm.

  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, or other support populations preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to pass background checks and any required state/federal clearances.

  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and ability to build trust with clients.
  • Reliable and organized, with good time management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Ability to assist with mobility and provide light physical support when necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Work Location: In person
