Personal Lines Account Manager
Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is to provide quality service to clients. The Personal Lines Account Manager will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company, Producer and their clients. Daily servicing of clients will include addressing various coverage issues and handling all the inside service work associated with the clients' account, including all endorsement activity, routine coverage questions, problem-solving, renewals, checking and binding of policies. A major function of the Personal Lines Account Manager role is Renewal Management ( staying ahead of renewals 90 days in advance of policy expiration, when necessary developing alternative proposals for clients and producers alike, marketing accounts to various carriers, reviewing current coverages and limits and comparing to proposed coverages and limits, highlighting and educating the client and producer on the advantages of any and every personal line new business and renewal opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities of the Personal Lines Account Manager will include, but not limited to:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
- Provide consistent, accurate and timely communication to clients through, verbal and written correspondence.
- Conduct face to face meetings with clients as necessary.
- Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures; document electronic files accordingly.
- Respond to clients' needs by producing binders, certificates, policies and other related items.
- Maintain client files in TAM accurately and consistently documenting conversations, sending confirmations to clients, and insure Activity Report is updated during or immediately after the discussion with client.
- Immediately notify carrier of incidents and/or claims.
- Process daily incoming emails, mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately including updating voicemail message.
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook to maximize daily efficiency.
- Needs to know what each carrier pays in commissions per coverage line and product.
- Know the underwriting and rating procedure for all types of personal lines policies.
- Quote and sell personal line policies. Personal Lines quoting must be done within 1 to 2 business days.
- Prepare applications, submit them to insured's and carriers, obtain clients' signatures on all applications and follow up to ensure timely responses.
- Handle cancellations with care, saving all accounts possible with adherence to E&O guidelines.
- Provide technical support to Producers (coverage-wise, with proposal, suspense items, etc.) to help clients.
- Process new business and renew and re-market accounts 60 days in advance.
- Needs to know all carriers and wholesalers' preferences, contacts and log into all carrier websites to pull reports.
- Understand SIAA annual carrier goals.
- Develop high net worth proposals for clientele and prospects.
- Required to cross-sell to increase new business growth.
- Review claims reports by Carriers on a monthly basis.
- Determines if agency or direct billing and invoices accordingly. If it's an agency bill account, enter the premium into the system and forward accounting company invoice for further processing by their department.
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
- Process and track fees as required.
- Complete 1 TAM webinar per quarter.
- Complete 2 Insurance CED per year.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of personal insurance underwriting, coverage and rate analysis.
- Knowledge of insurance coverage's and an ability to communicate this clearly to clients and underwriters.
- Keeps informed regarding industry information and new product information.
- Must be able to adequately communicate verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Very detailed and process-oriented.
- Motivated, organized, prioritize and self-manage work load.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a positive attitude and willingness to help others.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Bi-lingual in English & Spanish preferred.
- Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of college a plus.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Personal Lines Account Manager and currently holding a P&C license required.
- CIC, CPCU and/or CISR designations preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60, $75,000.00 per year
