Samsung Repair Quality Data Engineer

Position Summary:
Quality Data Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support for the mobile service and repair operations. The Quality Data Engineer will identify and implement processes for solving issues and will be responsible for driving necessary resources for successful completion of resolution. These responsibilities will include managing to prevent service-related issues preemptively by assessing risk factors and operation efficiencies, making decisions to provide an accurate service by identifying tools, jigs and documentation to provide a prompt service and repairs, and learning to use professional concepts and applying company policies and procedures to support service and repair operations from all aspects of service channels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and provide Mobile Product training materials and on-site training certification for Samsung Branded Service Centers and Samsung Authorized Service Centers
• Perform approved Service Engineering on-site field product testing, data collection, system evaluation and problem resolution projects.
• Develop product inspection, tests, diagnostic and repair procedures. Identify and initiate improvements in product testing techniques, tools and repair processes.
• Provide product test and repair standards for new products. Works closely with extended internal teams to resolve technical issues and to develop product test and repair capability improvements.
• Maintain a high level of technical knowledge within the Samsung Mobile Product, both Sales, Product & Customer Care Departments.
• Identify Service Center performance problems and disseminatepertinent technical and repair information to appropriate SEA personnel. Share improvements and experiences in product troubleshooting, failure analysis, diagnostics and repair techniques with repair technician team members and technician leads to improve repair productivity and to enhance the quality of service performance.
• Manage to minimize customer dissatisfaction resulted from service failure by analyzing and monitoring repetitive repairs and multiple defects.
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analyzing data requires evaluating identifiable factors.
• Investigate, diagnose, report, and assist in the resolution of mobileproduct problems. Assist in the concept, development, preparation and critical review of technical reports, technical documents, test procedures, user guides, installation and maintenance manuals.
Qualification/Experience
• Preferred to have experiences in digital circuitry, electronic component testing, failure diagnostics and mobile product technology
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP and operating in Windows environment
• Understanding and experience with ISO 9000 requirements as well as Six Sigma
• Experience with using statistical process control and CLCA process
Necessary Knowledge/Skills
• The ability to development and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc.
• The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.
• The ability to read, write, provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information.
• Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
• The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:
• Operate PC and product test equipment more than 75% of work time in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position.
• Lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures.
• High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition.
• High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
• Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
Bilingual in English and Korean is a PLUS
