Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional food service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for hospitality management. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a vital role in supporting the restaurant's mission to provide outstanding customer experiences through efficient kitchen management and team development.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on food safety, proper handling, and culinary techniques.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Support shift management by coordinating staff schedules and ensuring smooth service flow during peak hours.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and maintaining operational efficiency within the kitchen.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus, implement new recipes, and improve overall food quality.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing staff training to foster a skilled team environment.
- Contribute to customer service excellence by addressing guest concerns related to food quality or service issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or restaurant supervision within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or assistant manager experience in a hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of inventory control, food production processes, and cost management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and develop team members effectively.
- Background in culinary arts or hospitality management is highly desirable; fine dining or banquet experience is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
