We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr AWS Developer specializing in cost-savings initiatives for a dynamic and high-visibility role. This position is ideal for a self-driven individual contributor eager to apply their extensive AWS knowledge towards implementing effective cost-saving measures across various cloud platforms. The role involves working independently with minimal oversight, delivering complex features aimed at reducing costs at an enterprise scale. This is a hybrid role, allowing for flexibility between office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced features to reduce cloud-related costs across the enterprise using AWS tooling.
  • Analyze cost data and automated cost savings recommendations to identify and pursue viable cost reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate directly with application teams to implement cost-saving recommendations and ensure effective integration.
  • Maintain detailed tracking of cost savings and avoidance measures, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize impact.
  • Generate and present detailed management-level reports showcasing the value and impact of cost-saving initiatives to platform engineering stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in cloud cost optimization to continually enhance the effectiveness of cost-saving measures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS, encompassing a broad range of services.
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, and Serverless framework.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Typescript and Python.
  • Strong capabilities in building and presenting management-level reports demonstrating the value of technical projects.
  • Sound understanding of work management tools like Jira or similar for effective project tracking and management.
  • Experience in analyzing and implementing cloud cost savings across multiple applications is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Azure and GCP cloud platforms will be considered an asset.
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex querying are preferred.
  • Experience with analytics reporting tools such as Apache Superset and PowerBI is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Datadog or other third-party application observability tools is advantageous.

Pay Range: $70.00 to $75.00 per hour

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
